In sunny July, Fair Oak Farm hosted the first 'Wellness on the Weald' retreat.
Led by Dr Jacqueline Brickley, Wellness on the Weald is a retreat for women who have undergone or currently going through cancer treatment. The aim of the retreat is to educate, inspire and provide the opportunity for an exceptional relaxation experience.

As a practising NHS GP, Medical Hypnotherapist and Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, Dr Brickley knows first-hand of the need for these retreats and the benefit they bring to those who attend. Jacqueline is an experienced GP who is passionate about promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles within communities and came up with the brilliant idea for Wellness on the Weald so that she can share her knowledge and expertise within a group setting and promote wellness of the body and mind.
As a venue, we are really pleased to be working together with Jacqueline, who lives locally to Fair Oak Farm, and we're really excited about being able to offer these retreats.
The location of Fair Oak Farm is so perfect for a retreat as it truly does provide the utmost tranquillity and ensures our guests leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
So what does the retreat include? The retreat is a full board two night stay at Fair Oak Farm which includes access to all activities and relevant gifts from sponsors. The format of the activities includes science based talks from experts on nutrition and exercise plus yoga, meditation, spa and hypnotherapy sessions.
Our guests were treated to workshops and sessions such as nutrition advice from Charlotte Foster - @nutritionalevidence, yoga by Lucy Lucas - @lucylucasyoga (author of The Little Book of Yoga - now available on Amazon for £7.99), hypnotherapy sessions by @drjacquelinebrickley, exercise classes with Sarah Russell - @runfitsarah, delicious food from our trusted supplier Jane Midgen - @thewealdenkitchen and relaxing treatments in our on-site treatment studio provided by Elly from award-winning The Beauty Bar, also one of our trusted suppliers.
A number of sponsors very generously donated gifts and products for guests attending the retreat, kindly supplied by Tea Pigs, Dorset Cereals, Well Fit Box, No 1 Living Drinks, Biotiful Dairy, Ode and Fenn, Gallybird, Spacemasks, Naturally Happy Skin and Quintessentially English.
The next Wellness on the Weald retreat will be 23rd-25th September, when Jacqueline will be joined by Dr Hannah Short, GP and Holistic Menopause Specialist, Toral Shah, Cancer Nutritionist and Sarah Russell, Cancer Exercise Specialist.
