Over the years we've often provided accommodation for the nearest and dearest of couples getting married locally, providing a base for family and friends attending their wedding.
We're often asked if we can host a wedding ceremony and/or reception at Fair Oak Farm. Although it's not something we offer, we hear first hand how difficult it is to find a suitable venue locally and how it's often even harder to find accommodation for everyone, where close family and friends can be together in accommodation that meets a certain standard and doesn't break the bank.
So, if you'd rather not end up getting hitched at the back of a dingy pub and putting your long lost Aunt Nelly who you haven't seen for 20 years up in an expensive hotel, here's our pick of the best local wedding venues, to suit all budgets and preferences.
1. Wadhurst Castle, Wadhurst
A beautiful castellated country house set in magnificent gardens with far reaching views and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Licensed for ceremonies in the castle, the walled garden or the Carriage Barn. Following the ceremony your guests can spill out on to the South Terrace with its amazing views for drinks and canapes, music, lawn games and meanderings around the lovely garden rooms. Exclusive use, no corkage and bridal dressing room included.
2. Wickerwood Farm, Horam
A unique tipi wedding venue with a difference, tucked away in a quiet corner of local Sussex countryside, offering couples an exclusive slice of rural farmland with a wild woodland and a large lake dotted with water lilies for un-licenced ceremonies. Available for your own DIY wedding or a personal planning service is available along with on-site accommodation in stylish bell tents.
3. Swallows Oast, Ticehurst
A charming 1830’s venue full of unique and traditional character, used as a banqueting hall since 1995. The Oast roundels at the end of the building provide a fantastic main entrance into the hall for your ceremony. The main hall, with its beautiful oak-beamed ceiling and traditional minstrels’ gallery is ideal for an intimate celebration and an adjoining marquee can be added for your reception. The Pavilion offers an outdoor alternative for your ceremony and is a wonderful setting for an evening meal or relaxed barbeque.
All three venues are licenced for both ceremonies and receptions and, importantly, all three have the dedication and passion that only comes from the owners' direct involvement, supported by their teams and trusted local suppliers, many of whom we share.
Whether it be for on-site treatments, flower arrangements, transport between venues or for hair and beauty in the morning of the big day, we are only too pleased to introduce couples and their guests to our trusted local suppliers.
Exclusive hire of Fair Oak Farm is ideal for groups stays and family and friends attending a wedding.
With exclusive use of the accommodation here at Fair Oak Farm, everyone can enjoy meals and time together in communal spaces whilst also having the privacy of their own lodge, cottage or room, with a relaxed stay over several nights, all for less than the cost per guest of a single night in a hotel.
